Filitheyo is a resort island in the newly opened North Nilandhoo Atoll. It is a stylish resort that offers a very high standard of accommodation in attractive and well spaced rooms. Filitheyo is, in Maldivian terms, quite a large island 900m by 500m with a densely vegetated interior of palm trees, rubber trees, mangroves and Scaebola trees.  

The beaches are broad and beautiful and the island is unspoiled. On the fine, white-sanded ocean side of the island, turtles come in to lay their eggs and lucky guests may be able to watch them hatch on a moonlit night..

There are three types of rooms; Superior, Deluxe and Water Villas. All the superior rooms are semidetached and offer a truly excellent standard of stylish accommodation. Superior and deluxe rooms are large, approximately 5m by 5m, with big, partially open air bathrooms. One of the nicest aspects of the accommodation is the privacy afforded by the vegetation planted between each room.

SUPERIOR VILLA
There are 94 Superior Rooms built around the edge of the island just set back from the beach but within the treeline. The air-conditioned rooms are elegantly furnished with large four poster beds and attractive hardwood furniture. All rooms are equipped with a well stocked mini-bar, telephone, safe deposit box, television and CD stereo-player. The bathrooms are almost as large as the bedrooms and have twin sinks, desalinated hot and cold water shower and separate WC. All bathrooms have hairdryers and bathrobes are provided. Facilities Include: Thatched roof Villas, Semi-detached, With twin beds or four-poster beds, Mini Bar, Hair Dryer, Satellite TV, Direct Dial Telephone, Timber deck, Part open air bathroom with w.c., and outdoor shower, Air Conditioned, Ceiling Fan, Heated desalinated water.
 
DELUXE VILLA
The Deluxe Rooms are the same size as the Superior Rooms but have larger bathrooms offering a bathtub as well as a shower and they are detatched. Facilities in 15 Deluxe Villas (Kihaa Villas) are: Thatched Roof Villas, Detached, Mini Bar, Hair Dryer, Satellite TV, Direct Dial Telephone, With twin beds or king size bed, Sitting Area, A timber deck, Part open air bathroom with bathtub, Open Air shower.
 
 
   
WATER VILLA
16 luxurious water-bungalows have been built on stilts around the south of the lagoon. These offer the height of luxury including double doors that open out onto a large shaded sun-deck area. From here there are steps leading down into the lagoon and an additional platform provides plenty of room for sunbathing. The Rooms are with four poster beds. The bathrooms are large and have a whirlpool bath. Facilities include: Thatched Roof Villas, Built on stilts over the crystal clear water of the lagoon, Detached With king size bed, Sitting Area, Mini Bar, Hair Dryer, Satellite TV, Direct Dial Telephone, Bathroom with Bathtub, WC, Private Wooden deck area.
Service Description
Spa: The Filitheyo Spa is operated by world-renowned SPA operators, Mandara. The Spa is an excellent place to relax, rejuvenate and restore yourself with exotic spa treatments designed to indulge your senses. The Spa consists of two treatment rooms in villas located on the beach-front, and offers a range of massages, reflexology treatments, facials and pedicures.
Land Sports: There is a small air conditioned gymnasium on the island fitted out with weights and jogging equipment. Volley ball is played on the beach and there is a very attractive swimming pool with decking terraces and bar area. In addition, darts and other board games are available in the bar.
Water Sports: Filitheyo offers a good range of watersports including catamaran sailing, canoeing and windsurfing. There is a surfing and sailing school on the island, with both English and German speaking instructors available, equipped with 'Top Cat' Catamarans and Hy-Fly surf-boards and gear.
The Barakuda Dive School: This spaciously built diving centre was designed by professionals. Werner and Lily Lau who own the Dive Base have tremendous knowledge of the Maldives having operated here for many years. The Dive School is superbly equipped with a range of modern and well maintained equipment.
 
Dining Information
 
There are two restaurants on the island, the main restaurant and the sunset restaurant and two bars.
Restaurants: The restaurant on Filitheyo serves a very good choice of international and local dishes and we were very impressed by the food during our visit. There is a delicious selection of fresh meat and poultry dishes, including grilled meats, seafood and pasta, plus an excellent choice of fresh mixed salads and tropical fruits. For those with a sweeter tooth there is an ample choice of international deserts available. Beach buffets and barbecues, including many Maldivian specialities, provide further variety
to the menu. There is a small restaurant next to the sunset bar which offers an a la Carte menu
Bars: The main bar is located next to the main restaurant and offers a good selection of cocktails, beers, fruit juices, wines and non-alcoholic drinks. Table tennis and darts are available here. Close to the main bar is a decked area that leads down to a sunken library and air-conditioned reading room.
